When you are not with me
On the sands of the seashore
The night soaks
The eyes wake in the anticipation of slumber
Dreams dream
Sons
(for Ali & Hasnain)
My eyes
My hearth
In an empty lap
More chilled than ice
Two burning embers
Prettier than all flowers
Sometimes clouds sometimes rain
They accompany me These two twinkling stars
Mother
The shade which protects from the blazing sun
The village, that is missed
While one gets disoriented in the city
The night, that defends us from the complications of the day
The hands, with the soothing touch, that lull the tired eyes to slap
or anything else
come hither, my children
Tell me something too
How am I
What is
a mother
Love will rescue me
Countless wars
Countless predicaments
How many Hitlers, Missolinis
& Open Hiner
Countless prisoners
Countless rivers
have sworn
To annihilate the world
& the love, that nurture it
Still
Love rescued itself & the world
If love can save the, whole world Then, will it not be my saviour
No Love will surely rescue me!
I shall become the wind that reaches you
From the sea yonder
The coluds rise
I break into them
Wait
I shall accompany you Amused with my insistence
The clouds move on
But that day shall come
It shall surely come
When 1 shall immerse myself in the waves
& enter the sea
I shall soak in the water
I shall become the clouds
Through the breeze
I shall reach you To wash all the colors there are
on you
And to soak you in all my true colors.
